Spogady v Korobkah. Visual Identity

ABOUT
Spogady v Korobkah (Спогади в Коробках) is a fantastic initiative focused on teaching Ukrainian history to Ukrainian kids and adults living in Poland. The project's name, when translated, means 'Memories in Boxes.' For many Ukrainians today, their belongings are carefully packed in boxes, awaiting the day they can return home. And for some Ukrainians, these tangible connections often hold immeasurable value, representing ties to homes that no longer exist.

So, what's the deal with Spogady v Korobkah? By utilizing the concept of boxes, the project invites students to explore and unpack the treasured memories and stories of Ukraine. Each box takes you on a wild ride through a different period in Ukrainian history, and it's anything but boring!
TASK
Spogady v Korobkah wanted an identity that would ensure easy recognition, while also reflecting the innovative nature of the project. The aim was to create a modern, distinctive, and memorable identity that stands out.
IDEA
Since the box serves as the centerpiece, the graphic system for the identity adopts a more geometrical approach, built upon polygons. The letter 'C' (the first letter of the project's name in Cyrillic) has been creatively incorporated, giving it a boxy appearance. The concept of cut corners is used to illustrate how time and external factors can impact objects. Furthermore, the lower part of the symbol signifies the significance of our cultural and historical heritage, acting as a sturdy foundation and a source of support in our lives.
