It was December 2011. I was casually browsing the internet for inspiration to fuel my thoughts and generate ideas for a - personal project I was working on.

My eyes got locked on an image of a magazine cover in a Google search. A toon girl, determined, eyes closed, filled with passion with an army of wild animals walking behind her, painted in blue & white tones and a big-bold Creative Gaga on top of it. The cover was titled Utkranti and was designed by Rahul Gaikwad. It had captured my eyes.

While I beheld its beauty - unconsciously, I also wished to design a cover for Creative Gaga one day. Surprisingly, not much later, in February 2012, I joined the team of Creative Gaga - it was a huge coincidence. Will tell you that story some other time.

A couple of months with the team and the moment came when the duo, I and Gitesh Gupta was asked to - design the cover for the November 2012 issue. But I was not confident enough to take on the task, so Gitesh did it alone.

10 years later, it went full circle, and the opportunity came knocking again. I was designing the 54th Issue. The release date was near and the editorial team was not satisfied with the cover the assigned studio came up with. And due to some reasons, the studio was not able to redo it. And guess what, I was asked again if I'd like to design the cover and this time took on it.

After 3 days of exhausting efforts and restless nights, the cover came out shining, and the editorial team - THEY LOVED IT. Can't tell you how amazing that feeling was, I was so content, light-heartened, and felt so empowered. I can't explain enough - it gave me goosebumps. The whole scene, of the first encounter with the cover, played out again. So surreal.

It was on Design Trends for 2022. I tried to capture what was going on around the design industry - the metaverse, NFTs, 3D, Web 3.0 and so much more. I hope you'd like it too.

It has happened to me not just once but many times, since my childhood. Whatever I have truly desired or needed in my life, sooner or later - I've received it.
