I created this piece over the 6 months or so that I was awaiting confirmation on my US visa. It is a satirical celebration of my legal status here in New York: "An O-1b Alien with Extraordinary Abilities in the Arts".

This was a period of immense personal frustration, as I was unable to work or travel and for several months I did not think I would ever get the chance to live and work in NY.

This work recently won Best in Show at Greenpoint Gallery, Brooklyn. I received $200 and the opportunity for my own solo exhibition, which I am happy to announce will be taking place in October 2014.
