Bugrino is an exceptional sans serif typeface that effortlessly combines sharp and soft elements, resulting in a visually captivating design. The typeface family comprises six distinct weights: Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, and Black. Its name draws inspiration from an isolated island situated in the southern region of the Barents Sea.
The creative journey of Bugrino commenced with the idea of achieving a harmonious balance between sharp and soft lines. The design process took inspiration from the Blur and Huit typefaces, incorporating sharp lines and introducing unique symbols and characters. When utilized in text, Bugrino intends to create a blurred effect, enhancing its visual impact. However, in display applications, the typeface presents itself as unconventional and experimental, thanks to its pronounced sharp edges.
Bugrino Typeface is encoded with Latin Extended characters, ensuring comprehensive language support. With over 800 glyphs, it provides ample versatility for various typographic needs. The typeface was meticulously crafted by Muhittin Güneş, with the design process spanning from 2019 to 2022. It was officially released in May 2022, marking its debut in the design community.
