Planning a Portfolio Website
Planning a portfolio website with a site map, user flow, and wireframes is necessary because it helps to ensure that the website is designed with the user in mind and that it meets the goals and objectives of a website.
A sitemap helps to organize the content and structure of the website, making it easier for users to navigate and find the information they need.
Here is the sitemap for my portfolio website:
Main Page/Home Page: This is the landing page of my portfolio website, which provides an overview of my works.
Projects Page: This page showcases my projects and works. Each project will have subpages with details of the project and also there will be an option of like, share and comment.
Let's Connect Page: This page will include a contact form through which the viewers can connect with me to hire me.
User flow diagrams help to map out the user's journey through the website, identifying potential pain points and opportunities for improvement.
Some of the actions that users can take in my portfolio website:
Contact me
Share my work on their social media
View projects
Like
Comment
Read about me
I have designed the user flow for contacting me, comment for my work, to view my projects and read about me.
Wireframes provide a visual representation of the website's layout and content, allowing us to test and refine the design before moving on to the visual design phase.
Here is the wireframe of home page, project page, about me page and let's connect page.
Once the wireframe is finalized, one can move on to create a visual design and further refine the user experience.
In conclusion, I understood by planning the website in this way, I will be able to create a user-friendly, easy to navigate, and meets the needs of both the user and the website owner. I got clarifications about user flow which I had first built wrong and also understood that it should shows the easiest possible way.
Thank You!!!
