CLIENT PLYFA
ROLE Visual Identity + Web design & development

PLYFA is a flexible cultural platform that supports creative freedom, offering a space for experimentation, collaboration and exchange of ideas. It is housed in two restored buildings of the former industrial complex of the Athens Knitting and Weaving Industries (PL.YF.A.). It hosts a variety of music, dance, theatre and performing arts productions, offering to the public the opportunity to interact with contemporary art forms and encouraging an open dialogue with the society.
Having as reference the abandoned former industrial spaces that invite us to appropriate them and the artist-curated exhibitions of the 60s, PLYFA's visual identity was based on the idea of the empty, free space for creative expression.
This was reflected on the one hand by the instrumentalization of the original Π, which turns into an open frame, a welcoming environment and at the same time a habitable vesel to host the information. On the other hand, it is marked typographically with the use of empty parentheses that gives another substance to the gaps of words suggesting that PLYFA offers its spaces for experimentation and creative impulse, beyond the normal types of speech and communication.
