Decal Design - Concept to Production

For TerraTrike's 2014 model year, a long-overdue redesign of the decal graphics was implemented. Because of my skills with Adobe Illustrator and eye for design, I was included in the redesign team. We concepted and eventually agreed on a design that featured swooping graphic elements along with a honeycomb pattern. I took the rough sketched concepts and built them on top of CAD drawings of trike frames in Illustrator. This was done for each of TerraTrike's trike models, as well as for a prototype model set to debut later this year. The style was kept consistent to bring more cohesion to the trikes and increase their brand recognition when on a showroom floor with competitors' products.
I worked with TerraTrike Research and Design manager at the time to revise and adapt the Illustrator drawings based on feedback from our manufacturers. We then received flattened test decals from our manufacturer, which we then applied to a trike frame to check placement. A few tweaks were needed, and I edited the flattened graphic files directly to make these changes.
The final production decals are now shipping on all of our 2014 models, and received a standing ovation of applause when first debuted at TerraTrike's 2013 Dealer Day event. The design has since served as the base for a company wide branding redesign that is being featured on all 2014 marketing materials.
