Shin Godzilla Poster

I drew inspiration from classic monster movie posters and incorporated digital design techniques. This project was undertaken as part of a digital design class, where I aimed to pay homage to the iconic monster films of the past while infusing a modern touch.
Background: Shin Godzilla, a contemporary Japanese monster film released in 2016, served as the primary inspiration for this poster. However, I wanted to capture the nostalgic essence of classic monster movies, characterized by their bold visuals and captivating typography. By combining the vintage aesthetics with digital design skills, I sought to create a visually striking and unique poster.

Design Process:
Research and Analysis:
Explored various vintage monster movie posters, studying their composition, color palettes, typography, and visual elements.
Analyzed the characteristics that made these posters memorable and impactful.
Conceptualization:
Identified key elements of Shin Godzilla to highlight, such as its menacing presence, destruction, and its iconic appearance.
Developed a concept that would seamlessly blend the vintage style with contemporary digital techniques.
