Reverse Lotus of Colin's Rebirth
Artist's Statement:
Through my personal experiences, I have been able to examine myself by identifying to objects, animals, and sometimes even odd individuals. My art depicts the narrative of life stories and their diversity. In this painting, I portrayed myself growing up at various stages of my life and reflected on those times in the past and sometimes these reflections make it difficult to move forward. These changes in life have not been so simple and I have often wanted to shut my doors and stop trying.
In order to demonstrate the theoretical and emotional influence of my artwork, I employed acrylic paint along with some surrealism and abstract expressionism. By observing what is occurring to each flower in terms of many sensations, emotions, or behaviors it provides a reflection of what has occurred in the past and what is happening now. In addition, I also recreated the water's movement to reflect my feelings.
I concentrated on the lotus blossom in my artwork since its significance changes from culture to culture and can represent a reflection in time. Generally speaking, the flower symbolizes a character's rebirth, yet its petals' closing and opening motions reflect how each individual ages differently. I only wanted to portray black and white skin because I don't want to be associated with other colors; instead, I want to show that all people are the same color. The water reflects earlier memories to reveal which motions of the water cause destruction in different actions.
While I was creating this piece, I realized many emotional changes and how life’s reflections occurred over time

Punk Rock of Coming Undone by Korn
Background Story: While listening to the punk rock song Coming Undone by Korn, I was able to picture how to draw or design the song's ideas based on what I read in the lyrics. The music has spoken to all of us through inspiring visuals that illustrate what is happening in the plot. I felt the music displayed a painting unfinished. The sign depicts a warning not to go in the path of the crooked steps and tongue.

Pope Urban VIII Prepare to Baptize
Background Story:Pope Urban VIII is present back in 2020. In the painting the Pope is holding a water pistol filled with holy water. The history of this picture can be explained by tracing it back to March 27, 1639, when two young Jewish siblings were forcibly baptized in Rome, under the supervision of none other than Pope Urban VIII. In my opinion, together with Pope Urban VIII and Water Gun, they stand for what it meant for individuals to atone for their sins during the Covid-19 pandemic by encircling the unidentified green tone which representative Covid. He made the decision to preside over persons who were forced by their own impending death through COVID-19 to baptize themselves.

KFH - Kentucky Fried Human
Background Story: Since Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is a well-known fast food chain in America for those who adore fried chicken, I start to consider the idea of KFC by modifying another distinct style of pop culture. I wish to spread the concept that human arms and legs are analogous to the pieces of fried chicken by putting on a demonstration of this all over the United States. When compared to humans, chickens lead very different lives and weren't recognized to be meat.
