Information-architecture
Information architecture

This app is intended for an average to big household with lots of electronic devices.
I divide the devices to two categories: "My things" and "My places".
My things - all the devices organized by type, like all the lights.
My places - in order to use the app simply and effectively, the user can arrange the devices by groups (for example: rooms). And unite these groups to a mega group like (for example: floors).
All the devices are also separated to another 2 categories: on/off and open/close
"Open/close" is a group for all the things in the house that can be opened, closed and locked, like doors, windows and shutters. "On/off" group is for all the rest.

One of the big features is the ability to specify scenarios: an action or a series of actions that activate automatically or by the user.  I divide them into 2 groups: rules and modes.
Rules - Triggered by schedule or by action without user interference (i.e when the front door is open the lobby lights will turn on, at 7 am each morning the boiler will turn on for 30 minutes).
Modes - Triggered by the user (i.e when the user wakes up he activates "rise and shine" mode that open the shutters, turns on the coffee machine and the lights  and also turns on the radio on his favorite channel).

Other big features are the statistics and history use. This app monitors a lot of useful information about the uses of the different devices in the house. It shows that data to the user by simple infographics.

For the home screen I wanted to show just the devices that are on and open, and also popular actions and modes.

The first UX screens I made were crowded with information. In order to make it clearer and more understandable I limited the display information for each screen. In addition, I decided to limit the functions of the mobile app.
