God Save the Poor
A group project by myself, Chloe McNeill and Lewis Bowness, in which we recreated the board game Monopoly in order to criticise the British Royal Family's hoarding of wealth as well as other wrong doings through subversive means.
Every element of the game was intricately recreated, including the board, money, and chance cards. We injected subversive messaging into every part of the game, such as the 'get out of jail free' card, which we turned into 'Prince Andrew's get out of jail free' card, linking it to the serious allegations he is facing. On top of the intricately recreated game, we also designed satirical posters which aimed to question the public's opinion on the royal family as well as British culture as a whole.
