The majority of FMCG home care cleaning brands are far from meeting the needs of the circular economy. In fact 90% of the cleaning products we use in our home are made with water.

Setting an example for brands in the sector, we conceptualised a home dilution product that cuts down on carbon emissions through waterless shipping. The result is a mix-at-home-model that replaces environment-damaging chemicals with active ingredients.

Essence sources the ingredients for its home fragrance products based upon the raw ingredients value chain - for instance, using the second press from the perfume industry, by-products of the food and beverage industry and taking advantage of in-season produce when supply is bountiful.

Essence is delivered via a through-the-letter-box subscription model, for which frequency can be scaled to individual need, preventing churn.

We provide a wasteless packaging circle, whereby packaging can serve as storage in the home before being returned for recirculation.

Taking each aspect of the homecare process into account, we have developed a range of cleaning utensils designed for planned repair, and a responsible use of long life materials.
