Creating a narrative and questioning the concept of a book
For this project, I was required to challenge the definition of a book. I considered the core characteristics of a book: the conveying of some information or narrative via printing onto paper. Developments led me to question whether the paper could be wood? Did the wood have to be flat? Could I package the book in a way which would seem visually striking?
This project taught me a lot of the processes required for creating and manipulating wooden objects, and working closely with a wood technician - I achieved some quite interesting results.
