CLOVER OMAKASE

CLOVER FLOWER
In Japan’s internal wars, battles sometimes devastated the fields and farmers lost their crops. The clover, however, soon sprang up. That is why, it is considered to be a symbol of hope, renewal and perseverance. It is a perennial and a sign from the soil that when tough times are over, life always spring back.
RAW MATERIAL
Throughout the design aspects, materials play a crucial role in develop and evoke the environment’s atmosphere. We opted for raw materials due to their sustainability and timelessness we aimed for the Japanese’s minimal ambience. The notion of high-quality materials walks hand in hand when one uses raw materials. We confidentially believe that these materials will help create the most exquisite interior design space as well as furniture designs, lighting pieces and décor accessories.
THE ENTRANCE DOOR
We chose an appearance of mystery to establish curiosity. As water ripples and reflects its illusion onto the entrance door, no doubt it will capture one’s interest. We came across the design concept on how to create a space that make users feel like stepping into another dimension. The entrance door is a combination of burned cedar and tiles to contrast the textures of bronze wrought iron plate.
THE HALLWAY
We want to take advantage of this constraint and create an interior with a worldview that would be unimaginable from the exterior. In addition, the warm light like flames created by reflecting light on the custom-made copper also contributes to the creation of a cozy space. The narrow hallway will guide your eyes directly to the Zen oriented garden scape centerpiece along with the built-in wall scones.
THE LOBBY
After passing through the corridor, a waiting lounge is visible with large chestnut wood log benches, In the lobby, the ceiling is designed with arch-work finish with indirect light which covered with lime plaster with concrete furnishes. The seats are accented with small mood lights. The outer garden is decorated with moss, autumn leave and granites. The height is adjusted so that the landscape can be seen on the ground from the seating view.
THE DINING
As the design will develop with age, the space successfully represents the identity of the chef with an interest in tea ceremonies. Utilizing Japanese traditional (and reasonable) materials, I created the non-traditional simple-beauty structure. We wanted to utilize the coziness of being inside a cave-like space as well as maximize the limited light. The unique atmosphere created by the darkness of the space should be respected. The counter seats is intended to be a device that allows each customer to form a subtle angle when seated, allowing them to connect seamlessly with each other naturally.
CONCLUSION
In detail, the design of ‘Clover Omakase’ consists of mood and characters for each designated space. From the entrance to dining area, we articulating the spirit of warmth, coziness and the reminiscent flow when one step from one space to another. We aim to create a long lasting impression with the coexist of hardness and softness in this design.
