36 Days of Type 2023
36DaysofType is a project by Treinta y Seis Estudios that invites designers, illustrators and visual artists to express their unique interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. This year they were celebrating their 10th anniversary under the hashtag #36daysoftype10.
I decided to participate for the first time ever with a twist: I picked a poem or a verse to illustrate both the signs of each letter or number and the images that the poem itself proposed. The only self-imposed rule I had was that the poem had to be written in Spanish originally. Since I'm from Venezuela and I got my Literature degree there, most of my poetry referents are Venezuelan: 29 out of 36 poems are written by Venezuelan poets. For each sign I uploaded both the illustration and the poem that inspired it, hoping that people all around the world would discover some hidden poetry treasures.
