Project #1 - Madonna Clips

This project was very creative, because I really like to compare similar movies, clips, pictures or anything that can be compared because they can show that there's a different side to every story. I worked on this project with two of classmates, and it was very nice to see that the person whom has shown nothing about him until then, did a really great work.
1)      How is the first person singular self represented in the lyrics of each song?
- in the first song, she is more a positive person, she tries to fight for her love, while opposing her father, she has a lovely life with her boyfriend. She’s a good girl, she is really caring
- in the second one she is extroverted, she makes you believe she is independent and strong

2)      What kind of woman is represented in the 1986 clip? (Consider figure, age, hair-style, way of dancing and moving, costume, singing etc.) How is this representation connected to the narrative of the lyrics?
- she is more conservative comparing it to the other clip, though we believe she might have been provocative in that time
- she was young, and she didn’t want to seem older or younger
- the lyrics are appropriate, she is revolting against her father just that she could be with his man
- we can see her as  her father’s little princess, she cares about his father’s protection, though she is in love and she is trying to make his father believe that this man is right for her

3)      What kind of woman is represented in the 2012 clip? (Consider figure, age, hair-style, way of dancing and moving, costume, singing etc.) How is this representation connected to the narrative of the lyrics?
- erotic movements, she’s acting like a cougar, most of her movements represent sex
- she wants to break free from the man she was with
- she’s trying to make everyone believe that she is much younger
- she is not really singing she is like saying everything erotically
- ‘I didn't know I couldn't talk about sex’ the video and the lyrics is  quite the opposite. With her movements and tone she is clearly talking about sex, and she is not really bothered by it. She is not afraid to talk about it.
- ‘Express yourself, don't repress yourself’ she is clearly expressing herself, she is not sorry for her mistakes, it’s human nature
- she is making the man she is singing about, feel sorry about what he has lost by her moving
- the sing expresses freedom, all she’s trying to let us know is that she can say whatever she wants to say
- the box she’s in represents bondage, and she’s trying to get out of that bondage
- the strings also represent this bondage, she’s trying to break free from it

4)      Compare the two clips. (Consider: lyrics, music, tune, rhythm, visuals, etc.) What are the differences and the similarities?
- she is acting like an angel in the first movie, she dresses decent,  while in the second one she provoking the viewers, it’s quite sexual
- there’s a choreography in the Human Nature video, while in the first one there’s none
- childlike act in the first video, while childish in the second one
- she’s more emotional in Papa Don’t Preach, not in the Human Nature, she is like she doesn’t even care
- the vibe of the first song is more catchy, the second one is more
- she expresses in both videos that she can do whatever she wants to do, not even what her father or friends can stop her
- she’s wearing tight clothes, like she’s trying to break free
