This is a personal project that I decided to donate to a foster home, they take care of children with love and compassion and i wanted to give them some of my art for People to see the beauty of our indian kids.
For the faces, I used colored pencils and on the clothing i used some pyrography because it's one of the techniques that guatemalan artisans use the most to create beautiful pieces and this is my tribute to their work.
This girl is a "Garifuna", an ethnicity that lives near the Atlantic Coast of Guatemala.
This boy is a "Quiché", descendant of the mayan, wearing a festive custom for a holiday celebration.
I was trying how this would work out, but then decided to frame the two portraits alone, it ended up being a diptych.
