SYAMA AYUDHYA (CAFE) / brand identity - packaging design - character design

objectives:
Thai Traditional House, over 100 years old, located by the Chao Phraya River, directly opposite Wat Phutthaisawan in Ayutthaya Province. This allows you to enjoy the view and immerse yourself in the historical city. The Thai Traditional House has been renovated to align with the modern era, incorporating technological advancements and increasing convenience. It welcomes tourists to experience its services, including a café with a wide variety of specialty coffees and a menu of beverages, as well as European-style desserts such as puff pastries and pies, and Thai-style desserts. It also offers cultural activities from the past, developed to fit the modern era, such as playing chess, jumping rope, flower arranging, and Thai dessert-making workshops.

logo design:
The logo is designed by creating new letterforms to convey the brand's clear concept, emphasizing direct communication. It incorporates a fusion of letterforms through research, ranging from ancient times to the invention of Thai scripts during the Ayutthaya period (13th century) - Ayutthaya scripts (17th century) - Ratanakosin Thai scripts (19th century). The Thai scripts have been influenced by the Khom Script and developed from the Khom Script into the Thai scripts used today.

The word "Syama" existed before the word "Siam," which is a term used to refer to Thai people in Siam. The "Syama" style of letterforms was experimented with using data from the Thai script, English letterforms, and the Khom Script, and developed into the Thai language. This demonstrates the period of transformation from the past to align with the modern era of 2022, aiming to pass on Thai culture to future generations.

brand colour:
The brand chose to use silver, orange, and golden yellow colors, which appear vibrant, to align with the usage and conversation of the social media era. These colors create eye-catching contrast with the Thai Traditional House.

character design:
The character of the brand focuses on visual communication, showcasing the lifestyle of the past, traditional games, Suphasit (Thai proverbs), and Pang-Pae (Thai traditional poetry) to preserve Thai culture for future generations. However, there are modifications in storytelling techniques to align with coffee and bakery products and services, such as riding elephants to catch grasshoppers while enjoying refreshing orange coffee, paddling a boat and sipping latte... it's so artsy! Having a rice and curry potluck dripping, strolling with a serving tray of drinks and snacks, hitching a tour bus to explore the city, coffee or tea on a banana stalk, leaning against a buffalo and drinking espresso, cockfighting... and cheers!
