This fine-tuned calculator was created for a payroll-outsourcing company.  It helps customers see just how much doing payroll in-house costs, and just how much potential clients can save by outsourcing.  The calculator itself contains over 70 different variables, each of which plays into the final costs of calculation.  Involving thousands of lines of hand-written code, this calculator is a masterpiece of both design and engineering.

To start, users are presented with an unbranded entry page where they can create an account, or login.  User credentials are then sent to the server and securely saved via PHP scripting, and an account is created.  Depending on the size and complexity of the user's company (as the user must enter initially), the calculator will brand itself with one of three different themes.  Each time a user enters a response into the calculator, his or her response is saved automatically within seconds via AJAX.  When a user enters or exits a data entry field, the field is automatically formatted, with both commas and dollar signs if necessary.  Once the user reaches the end of the app, he or she can conveniently export all of the information by downloading a customized, branded pdf.  Lastly, if a user forgets his or her password, he or she can automatically reset it by sending an email to the associated account.
