Desmontegada
Desmontegada in Trentino dialect means the return of the animals from the summer pastures. For mountain villages, it is a festive occasion: the cows are adorned with flowers, bells and colourful bows and paraded through the village streets. It used to refer only to transhumance, but in the last fifteen years it has become one of the most well-known tourist events in Val di Fiemme, where I come from.

The production of the project demonstrates the ability to experiment with different printing and binding techniques, in order to reproduce the results of the iconographic research in the roots of the tradition of my place of origin.

The project was made possible thanks to the collaboration of: Vincenzo Varesco of Carano, Stefano Dellantonio of Predazzo and Tommaso Dossi of the Historical Archive of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme.
Part one: spiral-bound photographic booklet.
Part two: booklet containing an alphabet of forms.
Part three: four risograph-printed postcards.
Part four: photographic leporello.
Part five: poster.
Part six: four hand-printed linoleum handkerchiefs.
This project was carried out at the Design department of the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen, Italy.
