The Forth Bridges

On Monday 26th May I decided to visit North Queensferry to take some photos of the Forth Bridges on a beautiful summers evening.  The bridges are two of the most iconic landmarks and Scotland.  The Forth Road Bridge, shown below, is a long span bridge at about 2.5km in length, when it opened in 1964 it was the largest suspension bridge in the world outside the United States.

These photos will form part of a new project of mine to photograph the development of the Queensferry Crossing.  The Queensferry Crossing is a new bridge crossing the River Forth which is due to be completed in 2016 and will be 2.7km in length.   I aim to photograph the bridge on a regular basis to document the bridge as it starts rise above the water.
