Life Of An NPC - An experimental animation short film

Life Of An NPC is a experimental animation short film about a Non-Playable Character and how they interact with real people within a game enviornment. The idea for the film was to develope emotions to programmed character which we might ignore all the way throughout a game, and represent how they feel about their existencce.
PRE-PRODUCTION Process
Ideation was done, taking multiple inspirations from games, movies and creators around and a world/set was designed. The artstyle was predecided to be worked with an AI model namely 'Ebsynth'. The AI requires you to feed it keyframes which it could reference and model it further. Here is an explanation video by Joel Haver on how the animation works.
Scripting was done keeping the prerequisite of use of AI model and conditions for it to work better.
Parts of Storyboarding
Reference footage such as the above was produced to futher used in stages of production. Entire film was first shot in a live action format and then rotoscoped into an animation film.`
After the setting and background with characters were drawn out, keyframes were planned to feed into the AI.
PRODUCTION
Production was divided into total of 7 differernt scene setting, 36 shot and around 5000 frames.
After the keyframing and arranging of all complete frames were done, it was fed into the AI which generated the in between frames with its effect in place.
POST-PRODUCTION
All the 5000+ frames were then arranged in Adobe Premiere Pro and addition glitch effect and more effects were added onto the film, and ultimately the sound design was achieved to get the finished product.
THANK YOU.
