La convocatoria buscaba propuestas innovadoras que apuesten por una estrategia contemporánea y vanguardista de implantación de arquitectura en un entorno patrimonial; planteamientos que provoquen sinergias entre el contexto patrimonial y el edificio mismo de revalorización del patrimonio cultural edificado.
The competition aimed for innovative proposals that are committed to a contemporary and avant-garde architecture implementation strategy in a historical environment; approaches that provoke synergies between the historical building context and the new cultural building itself.An old Hat Factory used to function in the intervention site, now property of the state.
Sucre tiene un centro historico colonial importante y bastantes normativas que respetar.
Nuestra estrategia fue la de repetar el entorno Colonial llevando el edificio bajo tierra aprovechando la pendiente de la via y crear plataformas superiores a modo de plazas y espacios abiertos que aporten un espacio urbano mayor al abarrotado centro historico de la ciudad a manera de una plaza conectora entre vias principales. un espacio urbano mayor a los 6800 mt2.
Sucre has an important colonial historical center of the city and several regulations and norms to respect .
Our strategy was to evaluate , use and skip many of those regulations and respect the environment around by taking the building underground using the natural slope of the street and create higher platforms like open spaces to contribute to the open urban space in the crowded historical downtown as a conecting plaza between main streets. LA PROPUESTA DE COMPOSICIÓN VOLUMÉTRICA RÍTMICA A MANERA DE PLATAFORMAS O PLAZAS PÚBLICAS SE ESTABLECEN COMO ESPACIOS URBANOS QUE SE ADAPTAN A LA TOPOGRAFÍA DEL TERRENO Y MARCA LA TRANSICIÓN ENTRE UN CENTRO HISTÓRICO Y LOS NUEVOS EDIFICIOS ADYACENTES ,INTEGRÁNDOSE A LA CIUDAD POR MEDIO DEL ESPACIO LÚDICO DE CONTEMPLACIÓN Y APRECIACIÓN AL ENTORNO HISTÓRICO.

EL TEJIDO J’ALQA UN ELEMENTO ES UNA DE LAS EXPRESIONES MAGNIFICAS DE LA CULTURA QUECHUA QUE HOY EN DÍA TODAVÍA PERDURA POR MEDIO DEL TRABAJO DE LA MUJER J’ALQA,ESTE TEJIDO COMO EXPRESIÓN ARTÍSTICA TIENE EL ENORME POTENCIAL DE GENERAR ARQUITECTURA POR MEDIO DEL PROCESO DE ABSTRACCION Y ANALISIS DE PATRONES Y CONCEPTOS FORMALES QUE GENERAN ARQUITECTURA CONTEMPORÁNEA Y DE VANGUARDIA EN EL TEJIDO URBANO DEL CENTRO HISTORICO DE SUCRE.
To generate the projects architecture we build on the idea of representing a cultural element of the region and surroundings, getting away of the idea of integration by similitude ,we took as a reference an item that has enough artistic potential of great complexity and more importantly, that this element is a unique expression of authentic and original art of the region, the basic element of formal generation was this Textil piece from J'ALQA aesthetic , this is an element that is possibly one of the few magnificent works of the ancient Quechua culture that still exists today through the work of J'alqa woman, this fabric as an artistic expression has enormous potential to generate architecture through a process developed by abstracting ,analyzing patterns and generating spatial concepts for contemporary architecture.
SITE / URBAN CONTEXT
Elegimos el concepto espacial generador de arquitectura mas acorde a la funcion requerida por el programa arquitectonico, el que contiene Salas de Cine, Teatros de Camara, Museo Interactivo, Salas de expocision ,Salas de restauracion de arte, ambientes multifuncionales ganado tambien un espacio urbano abierto para la ciudad.
We chose the spatial generator concept most appealing to develop the architectural program which contains cinemas , theaters for performing arts, interactive museum, art galleries, art restauration and multifunctional spaces. Also we gain the ludic spaces above for the people and taking the art outside.
El resultado es una propuesta de composición volumétrica rítmica a manera de plataformas o plazas públicas que se establecen como arquitectura generativa que se adapta a la topografía del terreno, minimal y urbana que marca la transición entre un centro histórico y los nuevos edificios colindantes de una manera sutil y amable con el bloque de conservación absoluta integrándose al entorno por medio del espacio lúdico y de contemplación y apreciación al entorno histórico.
The result is a proposal of rhythmic volumetric composition in the form of platforms to be used as public plazas that adapt to the topography of the site, the architecture marks the transition between the historic center and the new and modern adjacent buildings in a Subtle and friendly way to the conservation block, integrating itself into the environment through the ludic space also creating an environment of contemplation and appreciation of the surrounding historical environment.

ACCESS HALL AND OPEN FLOOR GALLERIES
Los niveles funcionan alrededor de un gran foyer organizador del espacio macro, este foyer tiene 4 niveles de altura y es el espacio mayor que permite los conectores y las visuales hacia todo el conjunto funcional interno y que dota de los volumen espaciales y de aire necesario para acoger a los 2 teatros de cámara que se ubican en el nivel -6.00 con el aforo lleno en su capacidad , este foyer se encuentra cubierto por una plataforma /plaza que contiene los motivos del tejido tradicional j’alqa en sectores de piso transitable translucido proyectando el juego de sombras y luces al interior que crean una sensación espacial sobrecogedora directamente relacionada con la cultura regional.

INTEGRATION IN THE URBAN CONTEXT
ACCESS PLAZA / NEW CITY GATHERING POINT
Desde el punto de vista urbano se basa en la idea de generar un elemento que enlace el tejido urbano con un espacio abierto en medio de la masa edificada a manera de plazas públicas o espacios abiertos y lúdicos que le den a la sociedad un nuevo punto de encuentro creando un nuevo foco de atracción e interacción social.
From the urban point of view the proposal it is based on the idea of generating an element that links the urban fabric with an open space in the middle of the historic built environment, projecting this open public spaces to give the city a new gathering and meeting point creating a new focus of attraction and social interaction in the urban area.
