NEST DOMES

The destructive force of global warming is leaving a lasting impact on numerous species, including sea turtles, which are particularly vulnerable. Recent studies have revealed a startling fact: approximately 99% of sea turtle hatchlings have been born as females in the past four years, primarily due to the temperature of the sand influencing their sex during the crucial incubation period. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Banana Boat and WundermanThompson have joined forces with the Sea Turtle Conservation Program to introduce an ingenious solution: Nest Domes. These pioneering natural chambers act as an effective mechanism to regulate the temperature of the beach sand, providing a vital defense against the intense heat of the sun for the protection of the precious turtle nests.
