Poster Design: Tessellations and Visual Construction
Our task involved creating a multi-layered geometrical composition using tessellation and showcasing how the work of Delta influenced our own design. Additionally, we were required to highlight the tessellation techniques employed in the process.

Boris Tellegen, known as Delta, is a visual artist specializing in graffiti painting. His visually spectacular work redefines traditional visual art and transforms the graffiti genre by introducing an abstract and architectural style to the streets, even in the illicit context of street painting.
The word "xi" symbolizes "double happiness" and is represented by the combined symmetric character 囍 (similar to 喜喜), often associated with good luck, especially in marriages.
In the initial sketch, the symbol appears fragmented with sharp edges, which doesn't quite match its intended meaning.
To address this, I'm considering using other patterns like Chinese knots, which are more interconnected and intertwined, aligning better with the essence of the symbol.

In this sketch, I noticed that the body, which forms the "口" part of the character, appears too small and narrow in comparison to the top part. To address this, I will make adjustments during the digitalization process, expanding the "口" portion to achieve a more balanced and visually pleasing representation.

Idea:
My poster will embrace a techno and digital appearance, showcasing a unique 'xi' symbol with a contemporary twist. After consulting my lecturer, I decided to focus on a theme related to the marriage or merging of two digital or AI companies. I have the option to showcase a collaboration between two Chinese companies or one Chinese and one English company, considering the cultural significance of the 'xi' word.

The poster will be specifically designed for the China market, ensuring its relevance and appeal to the target audience. Another potential concept could be to use 'xi' to represent the exhibition of products that excel in form and function, or price and functionality.

For my final application, I will highlight the partnership between Apple and Robam, unveiling their innovative product, the ventilator named "iVent." The poster will serve as an announcement of this new partnership and the launch of the iVent ventilator.

Overall, my poster will communicate the exciting collaboration between technology and household appliances companies, leaving a lasting impression on the audience and effectively conveying the significance of this new venture.
Final poster:
Description: The poster features the Chinese character "囍" (shuangxǐ), symbolizing marriage, coming together, and double joy. It resembles two humans holding hands, representing the collaboration between a technology and a home appliance company. Apple and Robam represent the two "humans," while "iVent" is the name of their new kitchen ventilator.

Target audience: The target audience for the poster is working young adults to adults who are financially capable and technologically advanced, making them potential buyers for the kitchen ventilator.

Purpose: The poster serves as an announcement of the new partnership between Apple and Robam and the launch of the iVent kitchen ventilator in China. Its purpose is to advertise the product and attract more customers to purchase it.
