Challenge

Born out of ANSSI – the French cyber defence agency – Citalid is pioneering a new, more enlightened approach to cybersecurity with large enterprises and insurers. Combining AI and human expertise it helps companies understand what cyber risks they might face, how likely they are, and the potential financial impact of each. It emphasises providing customers real knowledge to act on, rather than relying on instinct or guesswork. We worked together to bring that to the fore through their brand, as they scaled their approach across borders and industries.

CYBER ENLIGHTENMENT

Today, companies are so scared of the growing cyber threat, they are paralysed by uncertainty. Citalid’s aim is to unite the entire community behind a more considered way of viewing cyber risk, and enter a new era of Cyber Enlightenment. And much like the original Enlightenment, it will be defined by reason, innovation, and knowledge.
Those beliefs in the power and democratisation of knowledge are fundamental to Citalid. So our creative concept takes visual inspiration from the Encyclopédie – a symbol of the Enlightenment era that embodied those ideas by collecting the world’s knowledge and distributing it widely. Its impact is there in our serif font choice, paper-toned colour palette, etched image treatment, and open-book logo design.

INHERENT DUALITIES

Human expertise & advanced technology. Historic inspiration & future-facing application. Even Enterprise & Insurance customers. Citalid is a company with duality running through it and so too is the brand. The neon lime takes inspiration from both highlighters and onscreen code, the logo mark uses curly brackets from programming and also the Encylopédie’s diagrams, and all messaging was developed in both French and English.

CONSTRUCTIVE, CONFIDENT, CONTEMPORARY. 

Currently, more traditional competitors perpetuate the status quo by using scare-tactics and inaccurate information to win customers, and largely use the same stereotypical visual language. Not Citalid. We wanted the brand to reflect the positive, confident outlook they have for how companies can live with cyber risk going forward. A more modern and reassuring identity, for a much more modern approach to the world of cybersecurity.​​​​​​​
