Terraced House by the Yauza river.

Started with a set of technical tasks this project turned to be a conceptual design approach in the end.
At first, I had to choose any site at Artplay building, measure it and learn to draw for the first time in my life: plans, sections, axonometrics, perspectives.
I decided where do I stop the space, as it had to be not too large. I chose to incorporate the ventilation pipes, half of the staircase and the air below the balcony to form my space.
Afterwards, I made the cast in 1:50 scale to represent the shape of the air inside my space.
It became an imaginary house for which I had to design the interior. I couldn't move the outer walls, but anything inside was up to me to decide. I also had to preserve the functional zones from the given plan.
Also, a stand had to be designed for the cast. It is represented in the drawing.
Later on I was given a random flat plan that consisted of the following functional zones: cooking, dining, livingroom, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 toilet, a utility room and a terrace.
I was to design an apartment for imaginary client, but choose a real spot in 1 km around Artplay. Here's the spot that I found with area that perfectly fits the size of my house. It's by the river, inside a little green oasis.

Naked site in autumn.
Below are the drawings of the interior I designed for a family of 4: young parents and children, they love to have guests. Additionaly to the minimum functions I had to preserve, the house has a little swimming pool at the ground floor, lounge at the entrance, second toilet in the bathroom, an attick and exit to the roof by the bedrooms.
No design comes without a model. This is the final one in 1:20 scale.
From the livingroom window we can see the stairs up to the bedrooms and down to the pool.
The diningroom is separated from the entrance by the semitransparent wall: to see who's coming, if needed, but not be disturbed.
Wide steps to the roof door form an extra lounge space.
The stand of the cast transformed into peculiar columns for the house really helps to preserve the greenery on the ground.
