The Theatre Syndrome was founded by Sonja Thorvaldsen back in 2002. It started as an activation program for disabled youngsters. The ambition has from the beginning been to create a theatre ofĀ high artistic quality, which at the same time articulates the special needs and possibilities of the disabled without having to compromise the experience itself.
What makes the Syndrome theatre speciel is precisely that all the actors and a big part of the permanent employees have some sort of diagnoses ā€“ for example the Down's or Asperger syndrome. None the less the theatre has the ability to use the syndromes strengths to their advantage.
