In 2018 Russia hosted the FIFA World Cup. Therefore, in order to mark this significant event, two Russian publishing houses, Samokat and A Walk Through History, decided to publish a book about the history of football -
The text was written by the Swiss sports journalist Laurent Nicolet, the author of the chapters about football in Russia is Lev Virovets. This book highlights the main and most dramatic events of decades of football history, from ancient times to the present day.
