My grandparents told me that they didn't have a good education because of the 'bad family composition'. I interviewed the elders around me and did research about 'family composition'. It's a term of the times unique to China, essentially labelling everyone and dividing them into classes in 1940s-1970s. Through this project, I hope to tell some stories about the "family composition" of my elders and document their experiences of the era in books and videos. To archive the history of the "old people" and their lives.
