Derived from the Conversation space pieces, the silhouettes of people in eight video channels are reduced to mute, black and white surfaces. Their interaction is an authentic document of multiple encounters. The content of these conversations is not known to us, thus we can only think about them through patterns of non-verbal behaviours – recognising nods, hand gestures and changes in posture, such as leaning forward or backward. The conversations are overlapping, blending together and building a multi-faceted, kaleidoscopic structure. As individual fragments, they can be seen as universal traces of everyday life. Joined together into a whole, they reflect complex interpersonal relations, ever-changing, but lasting – the kind of relations that are embodied in the Interaction volume piece. The two works build a whole together, offering a case study - a personal map of relations seen from different angles.
