I chose to make an interactive editorial project for Bruce Mau’s Manifesto because I admire his attitude towards design and life. I very much look up to his optimistic mentality. I also enjoyed The Incomplete Manifesto’s format in general and I agree with the points made in the Manifesto. I would suggest you to learn about him, here is a trailer of a movie about him on the right!
My process of this project was based on the implication of “Incompleteness” and having the most fun while designing. I used a very typographic approach and minimal animations to give them life. The reason I used typography is because when I hear the name Bruce Mau, I automatically remember the way he beautifully handles the typographic elements.
The colors I chose were assigned to create  nice contrast and enable me to create a focus. The fonts I used were chosen to create contrast between each other and enable me to control the negative space nicely. The textures and small movements were used to create more natural visuals
First, I did a research about the manifesto and the author, later I started my thinking process about how to convey the feeling of the manifesto in an effective way. My thinking process also involved a lot of sketching, later I finalized those sketches according to my distribution of the manifesto and started my animations in after effects. For each page, I first finished the animation on After Effects and convert them to InDesign to place the paragraphs according to my layout plan. After that, I focused on the interactivity and user interface of the project to give the best experience I can to the readers. But most importantly, I had a lot of fun.
