FMP Development - Whose Skin Are You In ? WIP

For my final major project I have chosen a topic that is of high interest to me, as an avid animal lover I feel that the slaughter and use of animal skin within the fashion industry is slowly destroying the number of animals in the wild. Many people do not know the brutal methods that are generally used to kill and skin these animals ready for sale. I am going to be creating a series of graphical poster that make the viewer’s aware of the effects the use of animal skin within fashion has on the numbers of animals that remain in the wild.
Initial Research
First Attempt
The aim of my designs is to work as a collection to enable to viewer to understand the methods and effects the use of skin has upon wildlife. After viewing my first initial designs, I came to the conclusion that they were to typical and gory for my final major piece. Although by creating these I have decided that I would like my designs to work as a ‘tile piece’, meaning that my initial finished project will be displayed in a grid layout.
Second Attempt
I wanted to try something different with my second designs, i like the process of screen printing although with the time left, screen printing is out of the option. i then started to explore ways of making my work appear screen printed through using effects. i have tried to keep my design minimilistic in its appearance and hope to create a set of posters in this style.

Colour Variations
This is my favourite of the colour variations of the design so far. i like how the image overlaps and creates an array of colours to create the effect.
Poster Designs
Once again i decided to change my initial designs, although keeping the same graphics and images i had designed. i felt that 'we're dying to make you look good' didn't give across a strong enough message. i then opted for 'whose skin are you in?'. i felt that this piece of typography pulled the piece together.
With my initial design, as i had spoken about previously, i wanted to bring a screen print effect to the outcome of my final designs. i have tried to achieve this by giving the elements of my design a slight rough edge.
