Art from the BIG HERO 6 mini-series I illustrated for Marvel in late 2008. With the new Disney animated feature set to debut in February, it'll be interesting to see what the filmakers decide to use from the source material. Big Hero 6 was originally created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau in 1998. Ten years later, X-Men writer Chris Claremont and I created a new adventure for the team complete with a top-to-bottom visual overhaul. I wanted the character designs to reflect the rich visual language coming out of Japan, so you'll see plenty of influences from anime, manga, and Godzilla among other things.
And it looks like some of the additions we made (like new members Fred and Wasabi, or shifting Baymax to a robotic look) will actually be included in the look of the movie--very excited!
