I wanted to create pins that spoke to the Tomb Raider franchise. Though, I mostly geared my designs towards the games. The initial line up worked but some weren't the best.

I got some feedback and changed the "Suns Out Lara's Out" to a square rather than a home plate shape.

Some of these references ended up being too niche.

So I chose to change "For More Than Climbing" and "Formidable".

The dual pistols are an iconic part of Lara and I wanted a witty catchphrase to accompany it. But, I was then advised that it could be insensitive towards our current climate around guns. I had the choice to keep it but decided against it.

I got to work on some new sketches and chose these three.

For the necklace's string, I spelled out her name to make the pin more unique and different from what's already out there. I used Procreate to illustrate the name. Once I was done, it was vectorized in Illustrator.

Here's the finished vector art. Even though I was getting rid of three pins, I wanted to repurpose them somehow. So I took the bats from "Formidable" and added it to the top of Lara's head, as if they're following her in a cave.

I then took from "For More Than Climbing" and used it as a makeshift glider (which she does in the game). Doing this saved me time and helped me find a way to reuse graphics in a creative way.
