Crystal Garden
夜琉璃
Crystal Garden is a Sci-Art project that consists of time-lapse photography and multiple handmade crafts. It explores the interaction between natural forces and substances using various organic compounds.
Time-lapse photography shows the “flowing nature”. It records the crystallization process of various colored organic compounds. The crystals grow like plants, exhibiting the basic forms of nature.
The crafts represent the "solidified nature". The crystals eventually solidify in glass containers, becoming touchable art pieces.
The Chinese name for this project is "夜琉璃" (Ye Liu li). "夜" means "night" and "琉璃" refers to a variety of colors and translucent artificial crystals.
