BlindWalls Mural Design

Mural assignment
BlindWalls (Exam)
We have got the assignment to design a possible mural for a company called BlindWalls.
We have gotten the option between three possible buildings to make a design for.
And we have about 5 weeks to compleet the assignment through research and trying out different design ideas.

Research
The first thing I am going to do is do research on all three different buildings. See what is the history behind them. Where are they located? Whats inside of the building?
What is the history of the town etc.
My Choice of Building
My choice landed on the last building. For me it has the best canvas to work with and also  I would like to change the image of the city. It is known as the ugly duckling amongst the Cities in Brabant. And I think some beautifull Murals could really change that view.

Next up I am going to do some more research on different types of murals, and see what speaks most to me. I am gonna make moodboards and sketches etc. I am also going to look what would fit most in the city.
I have made two moodboards to look with what sort of vibe I want to work with. What I noticed is that I like a very painterly feel to a mural, but also a more cartoonie clean sort of vibe. So I want to go and try to combine the two styles into one and make it my own.
Last Research
Further research into the place of my choosing and design ideas. And completing my idea stage with fitting concepts to show to the client at the 2 week mark.
Concept Designs
After finishing my concept designs and moodboards I had a conversation with my teacher about which design I was going to complete. We agreed on the Duck idea. It was funny and fitted very well with the image of the city. So now I am going to change my moodboard after the critique I received, and work from there.
Final Work
After making a new moodboard, fitting this idea much better. I started working on my composition. I got critique that my first composition was a bit awkward. So I started with a new one. I had the idea of using the ugly duck dangling from the top and really liked that. But the first one again felt a bit awkward. So for the second one I changed up the design again. And ended up really liking this one, so I went for it and started working on the final design.
Here is the final design! I am really happy with the end result. The composition fits way better in my oppinion. The colors also fit wel with the design and the colors of the city. And yea it's just nice and playful. I also decided to do a blender render just because I had some time left.
