This Illustration Project's aim was to design a character from your imagination, it can be realistic or fictional , big or small, the design was in each's hand.
Ever heard of the Holographic Universe Theory? If not, you're about to. I based my character, whom i named Gustav, on a the latest theory where physicists concluded on how we, the environment, earth came to exist.
We take for granted that we exist as 3D beings in a 3D universe, but physicists suggest that our world is just the projection of a reality written in 2D.

Each level in his head is explaining the predicted elements that make up the 2D sheet.
1st Level- (GRAVITY): Gravity in the holographic context which is expressed as 'Vibrating Strings'.
2nd Level-(PARTICLES): At the end, everything is made up of particles.
3rd Level-(DNA): It's a bunch of information, it can be DNA.
4th Level-(ELECTRICAL FIELDS): They say that the information on the 2D sheet is transmitted to our brain through electrical circuits.
Story Board: 1
Gustav's parents pass away in a car crash where he was the only lucky survivor. Gustav was their only child whom they were greatly attached to.

He can not let go of his parents. They were his only true friends and guides in life. As you can see, Gustav isn't like any ordinary kid out there. He has a big head, and as he grew older, his head got nothing but bigger and bigger. He was made fun off at school, public places, wherever. He had no one but his parents, until.. he lost them.
Gustav started having dreams where he saw himself stuck in between 2 doors. A door symbolizing what we see as real in front of us from sun, nature, cars, humans and what so ever. Another door symbolziing atmoic and science particles representing a world that is uknown to the human beings living in a world where we think is real.
Gustav enjoying an ordinary day in his household reading a book and getting more educated. You can notice his head getting bigger with time representing the excessive amount of information going through his mind. He starts studying theories on how the earth came to exist. He believes if he found the truth behind the existance of human kind he might be able to retrieve his parents and bring them back to life.
Gustav celebrating his birthday alone, concentrating on how lonely he is and how rarely he comes across any human interaction.
Gustav has his work at home. He rarely leaves his own house.
He has a secret lab behind the book case found in the sitting room where he enters to continue his studies.
Later on Gustav starts realizing that he is the only one in this universe with as big of a head as his. He starts believing that he has been sent with a gift, and that is to educate human kind with this theory and giving them the ability to see what he sees.

The hole in his head was developed so that people can look through it and see what Gustav is trying to show to the world. As you look through the hole everything seems scrambled, just like physicists emply how information is found on the 2D sheet.
