Digital Recreation of Historic Piece
For this piece, I had to digitally recreate a painting that was over 100 years old. I chose to recreate the image of a snake because I love snakes and I thought that it would be the most fun for me to work on. I realized quickly that this would be quite a challenge and I ended up learning a lot of new skills to make this become what I wanted it to be. This was one of my first projects using almost exclusively Adobe Illustrator so I ended up loving this program in the midst of working on this project.
This is a side by side of the original image and my digital rendition.
The first step was to sketch out the main size and characteristics (which is pictured on the left), and the second step was to block in the primary colors of each section using gradient color blocking (pictured on the right).
