Growth and evolution

After around 8 weeks of workshops and planning this Is what i came up with for a final piece.
Materials;
- Oil paints
- Sand & Acrylic mixture (My own creation, sets solid when left to dry)
The piece is about the growth and evolution of the person over time. The sand acrylic wrapping around her body is used to represent time flowing over her and changing her. In the background are places and aspirations form points in her life. As time flows these places and event that seem so important at the time become meaningless in the grand scheme of things and so fade away. Time is said to heal everything but there are some things that you will stay with you till then end, the scar on her torso represents this by being avoided and unchanged by the sand acrylic.
This is one of my first oil paintings and after enjoying making this so much I intend to do many many more.
