Moema Espresso are a Berlin-based coffee company that works according to the principles of Direct Fair Trade. What makes the company special is that they do not buy the green beans and roast them in Germany. Instead, they leave the entire value chain, up to the product ready for sale, in the country of origin. The farmers take over the roasting and thereby earn much higher revenue compared to conventional Fair Trade seals.
