WOMEN OF THE WORLD

Set of digital illustrations about the issues in the modern societies. Each artwork is representing one country and reveals some stereotypes and concerns of our times.

Chinese picture is inspired by the traditional theatre costumes.

The picture represents the blame the international community put on her for bringing the virus into the world.

***
The Russian drawing embodies the submissive position of women in Christianity, the suppression of their voice.

The gown she’s wearing is inspired by the rich orthodox priests’ outfits.

The inscription is written in old cyrillique. It’s a cite from the Bible saying that the position of the woman is to follow her man as if he’s a God himself.

The Indian drawing displays inequalities between reach and poor, the shine of religion and gloom of reality.

I took inspiration from the Indian Goddess of abundance Lakshmi. She’s always represented with flowers in bloom and gold in her hands. I decided to add the opposite side of life on the drawing, showing the decay of beauty and the true price of money, turning into dirt.

I hope that the symmetry, bright colors and abundance of decorations helped to reduce the harshness of the topic.

THANKS FOR CHECKING MY PROJECT!
