three sisters

Three Sisters is a play by the Russian author and playwright Anton Chekhov. It was written in 1900 and first performed in 1901 at the Moscow Theatre.

The three shapes present the three sisters. Simplicity of this design is reflecting how easy it is to be a judge of their characters and to understand this play in general. The three sisters are all very different one from another and have different approach to life with different dreams. The only common wish all three of them have is Moscow. It was in Moscow that the sisters grew up, and they all long to return to the sophistication and happiness of that time. Moscow is the red rectangle which is where their roots are.

The three blue rectangles coming out of the red rectangle seem to look like they are upside down – which explains how I perceived their emotional state after departure from Moscow and how little did they grow since then - also, their colors differ inside and outside of the red rectangle. Three sisters are in different shades of blue showing their differences, yet they overlap in certain situations.
