Capturing wildlife in Sri Lanka with Tamron lenses
SHOT ON TAMRON 35-150 f2-2.8 and 150-500 f5-6.7
For 2 months i was exploring the natural beauty of Sri Lanka. I was trying to avoid the touristy areas to see the raw and untouched side of the country and i was also keen to witness its diverse bird population.
When it comes to wildlife photography most importantly my lens needs to have quick and reliable autofocus.
I used the Tamron 35-150mm in situations when I was relatively close to the animals. It provided great flexibility for my fast moving subjects and made a perfect combination with 150-500mm lens which was essential for those super zoomed-in shots.
One of the features that I really like about the build concept of the 150-500mm lens that it has the "Flex Zoom Lock" function that allows me to quickly lock or unlock the focal length at any position simply by sliding the zoom ring.
The lens feels very well-balanced on my camera and is easy to carry around compared to its long focal length.
It delivers quick and accurate autofocus and impressively sharp images.
Sharpness is excellent across the entire image frame while using the 35-150 and chromatic aberration is also extremely well controlled.
Autofocus is primarily controlled by the camera but lens characteristics can impede the camera's autofocus efficiency. Overall the 35-150 lens was a joy to use when photographing even fast-moving wildlife.
The 2-2.8 aperture of this lens makes it perfect for handholding even in darker circumstances and create beautiful blurry background.
