About

This was an Instagram filter made with Spark AR. I used the reference of a comic book that I designed previously. The comics were based on the infinite ways people can say 'goodbye' in Germany due to the language. I realized that people are doing this more often, that they decide to meet up with people and have nothing to say. But finally, when it's time to say goodbye, the goodbyes never end. I sort of experienced the same discomfort in New York, where people pass by and disappear into crowds as they ask you a deep question, though casually; "How are you?"
Project Type: Designing for Instagram (Academic)
Timeline: 4 Weeks
Type: Individual Project
Software: Spark AR, Blender, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects
My Role: Conceptualizing, Production, Pre-production
This project was directly taken from a comic that I created 2 years before this.
Process
Challenges/ Learnings

-The drawings had to be retraced from Raster images to vector, to take them into Blender and make them 3D.
-The animated frames could not be exported as a sequence inside of Spark AR if I wanted to use its in-built functions, such as rotating in live space.
-The drawings had to be modified to make them fit into generalized spaces.
