Smooth Crew is a Singaporean band consisting of Spruce Teo (saxophone), Sikai Goh (keyboard), Anson Koh (drums) and Titus Ng (bass). They specialize in contemporary smooth jazz and are often seen making the rounds in the local music scene.
The project brief invovles creating a campaign to promote a fictional concert by Smooth Crew. As this project would make use of augmented reality, we named the concert 'A Touch of Class', a reference to the genre of music that Smooth Crew plays, as well as the way that people interact with augmented reality: by touching and scrolling on the screens. The art direction was inspired by jazz culture, which evokes a sense of stylishness and class.
To promote the concert, we designed a media kit, which includes a CD, poster and T-shirt which includes content related to the concert. All these items would be made interactive by using the Layar augmented reality mobile app.
Below are some images which allow you to see the AR in action for yourself. Simply download the Layar app from the App Store or Google Play Store and scan each image individually to discover interactive content.
