Thailand 2022 - Wat Phra Sing, Chiang Mai 28.09.2022
What a wonderful experience it was being offered to join in with a study group of monks from overseas and students of tourism who wanted to know more about Buddhist teachings. Everyone we had met was extremely kind, welcoming and gave us time to answer our curious questions around meditations and monks practise. It was also to our pleasant surprise and perhaps our stereotyping view of those of the 'cloth' that some of these young monks were quite liberal, very laid back and not just living up in the mountains meditating all day but have active social lives, learning English through Netflix dramas (lol), interested in photography & travel and very chatty and curious! It really was a special experience, and always important to have gratitude and appreciation for all cultures & practises stemming from peace & harmony.
