Letterpress workshop for Archivio Tipografico @MicroPiù Olimpiadi
We were asked to partecipate to MicroPiù Olimpiadi with a letterpress workshop. We proposed to have the participants experiment with movable types starting from an SMS or a Whatsapp message they received during the last day, at the same time of the beginning of the workshop. All the typographic compositions should have been printed on pre-creased sheets and then binded, to form an istant fanzine.

Preparation of the materials for the workshop

We realized the identity of the workshop using wood and lead types from Archivio Tipografico's collection.
We chose the smile emoticon as a symbol of the intersection between digital and analog technologies and communication media. We are particularly interested to investigate in this field, being letterpress printers living in a digital world.
