Spreading good messages through film.

Dandelion Films trusted us to create their very personal manifesto, sharing with us a script and voice over for us to build a storyline and animations from.

Reading their script and manifesto, their narrative fit the structure from The Hero with a Thousand Faces, by Joseph Campbell, and we started to understand each chapter of this symbolic character's journey.

For each chapter of the Hero's Journey we tried to connect it with the possible journey of a small Dandelion seed breaking free into the nature.

Through Magician's lenses.

The abstraction of forms and compositions was set under the perspective of a magician.

Presented to us as one of the arquetypes of Dandelion Films brand, The Magician provided many atributes that were used as an inspiring base for our concept.

Understanding this we could grasp three words that were in sync with their branding, and with them in mind, we started collecting inspiring fragments and organising them in a moodboard:

MAGIC - FRACTALS - CALEIDOSCOPE

Like in Nature.

We wanted to make the energy that moves the animation of our character as vital and ancient as nature itself moving it, taking inspiration of the way organic patterns form naturally in flowers, as well as the behaviour of real dandelion seeds moving against the forces of airflow to make its way.

Mirroring their composition structure.

For the composition we wanted to stay true to their branding guide, and decided to follow the concept of fractal and mirror-like compositions. For the colours, we stayed as close as possible with their pallete: blue, pink and green, using our character with lighter colours for contrast.
