I am really proud of this project! I chose Miley Cyrus as the subject of my project because I recently fell in love with her music, especially her albums Plastic Hearts and Endless Summer Vacation. I chose this picture specifically because the outfit reminded me a lot of the use of polka dots in classic pop art, I also thought that the pose was really dynamic and would make for a really interesting design. For the colors, I wanted to keep it really bright and vibrant, but I didn't want to go super crazy with color schemes in each individual box because I knew I would do a lot of patterns and textures that would make the piece busy. When it came time to add textures, I wanted to incorporate a few textures that were reminiscent of her albums, specifically the pink tin foil square representing Plastic Hearts and the blue ocean square representing Endless Summer Vacation. In conclusion, even though this project came with a lot of struggles like adding hundreds of polka dots and re-learning photoshop, I am really, really proud of the final projects (all 3 of them :)).
